CloudLabs, by Spektra Systems, is one of the four partners Microsoft recommends for customers leaving Azure Lab Services. Its prices below are from cloudlabs.ai and its help pages, checked on 30 September 2026. Check with CloudLabs before you decide.
Price
| CloudLabs, managed | CloudLabs, your cloud | Hyperamplify Labs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How you pay | $6 per active lab user per month, plus cloud | $12 per active user per month, plus your own cloud bill | $0.50 per Ubuntu hour, $0.75 per Windows hour, $49 a month minimum |
| Small VM rate | about $0.18 an hour | your cloud rate | included in the hourly price |
| 50 students, 10 hours a week, 4 weeks | about $660 | $600 plus cloud | about $1,050 on Ubuntu, $1,575 on Windows |
On published prices, CloudLabs' managed plan costs less than we do for the reference class. We are not the cheapest option for every college, and we would rather say so.
Where CloudLabs is the better choice
- Lowest published price for a steady class. If your students use the lab every week of the term, the per-user price plus a low hourly rate is hard to beat.
- Kept student work. CloudLabs offers persistent or fresh machines per lab. Hyperamplify Labs starts every session clean.
- You want to stay on Azure, with your Compute Gallery images.
Where Hyperamplify Labs is the better choice
- Classes that use the lab unevenly. A per-user price charges for a student in the month they are active. We charge only for hours that machines run, so a class that uses the lab in a few bursts pays for those bursts.
- One price, one bill. No separate cloud bill to forecast, and no cloud account of your own to run.
- Built around a term: hours per student with a hard stop, an end date that ends every machine, reset to the image, and shutdown when nobody is using the machine.
- Your staff build and version the image in the browser, and every saved version is kept.
- Run it from an AI agent, with a public API and an MCP server.
The short version
If you want the lowest published price and kept student work today, look hard at CloudLabs. If you want hourly billing with no cloud account, and a product built around one teacher running one term, get started with Hyperamplify Labs.
